What's Your WHY? Here's Mine...

Hey there! Welcome Back, I appreciate you being here... make sure you subscribe to my free 7 day Manifesting Course if you haven't already!

Every MLM’er is infamous for asking their prospects what their “Why” is.

Well there’s a really great reason for this, whether your doing straight MLM or any other entrepreneurial work.

You see, the road to being an entrepreneur can often feel as bumpy as a long Texas dirt road.

If your why is not strong enough you’ll be high tailing it to easy street in no time.

If money, for example, is the only reason you join an MLM, than you can be darn sure when the going gets rough you’ll be seeking out bartending or dreaming of that movie, “Indecent Proposal”!

You’ll be telling yourself that there’s a heck of a lot easier ways to make money. Gosh you may even put that suit back on to drive to your old corporate job!

So your WHY has to be so important to you that you’d walk on fire to have it.

Isn’t that what rejection feels like? Isn’t that what discouragement from loved ones feels like?

I think it’s what Kermit The Frog was referring to, “It’s not easy being green.”. Let’s face it folks, when you start out being an entrepreneur, you’re greener than a golf course!

So, what IS your why?

If you don’t have a really clear answer for this, I recommend you put one hand on your heart and one on your belly, breathe deeply and get clear on why you are choosing this path.

Here are my why’s…

I want to have the time freedom to visit my family whenever I want, just because.

I want to be able to fly or drive from where ever I happen to be living at the time, to go watch my niece and nephew play soccer.

I want to be the person that can fly to visit a friend if they just broke up with their lover, to sit next to her to listen and make cookies for her.

I want to visit every continent and experience all of the beauty our world offers. I want to breathe in the smells, the sounds, sights, tastes, cultures and personalities…

I want to have my bucket list get longer and longer each day I fulfill something on it.

I want to go to the fanciest restaurant and pay for all of my friends and leave a really fat tip without even looking at the bill or getting a knot in my stomach.

I want to take a week and do a painting retreat in my favorite spot, Esalen.

I want to open my own art gallery without having to stress about actually selling anything.

I want my personal development skills to continue to grow… To confidently do public speaking, to hone my listening skills, to get really good at writing and systemizing and, and, and….

Basically, I want to live my birthright of freedom, growth and joy.

And, I would love, love, love to hear your why, so leave a comment below…

Thanks!

My WHY? How about liquor and wild women?... Just kidding. Lots of people know their "why's" ... but then it becomes a matter of internalizing them and entrenching them so deeply within your psyche, that they change from "why's" into "MUST's." I know for me at my age, I don't want to spend the rest of my years working even at a GOOD job, I want to be able to have, do, and see all the things I thought would never be possible when I was younger. I want to have the excitement and satisfaction of being able to offer and help others reach their dreams. Opportunities to succeed were still there back then, they were just a lot fewer and certainly not as easily attainable as they are now what with the advent of the Internet and the technology we have today, allowing us to reach literally millions of people worldwide so easily. There are also literally thousands of different business opportunities now, something for everyone. Now we know TVI is the best of all of them, right? Especially for us travel lovers! Finally ... I have an insatiable desire for lots of expensive guitars!
  • Hi Sue, great post! My whys are: I want to be able to express myself fully and I want to be able to try new things without being afraid of corporate fiscal irresponsibility. Like you, I want to have 100% control over my own time and how I spend it. I want to be able to live where ever I want for however long I want, maybe summers in Southwestern US and winters in Europe. I want the work that I do to be fully integrated with who I am and how I live my life. And I want the flexibility to stay at home when we have a child and not be worried about having to go back to work in 6 weeks. Plus I want other people to have this freedom because I don't think we humans were meant to be strapped down to a 9 to 5 job working for the man.
  • I choose freedom! Freedom to do what I desire to do, to go where I desire to go, to be with who I desire to be with, to feel light and free knowing I have more than enough. I choose the constant inner growth that happens when we choose to be an entrepreneur and take control of our life. This is my Why... Freedom, Self-Confidence, and Inner Growth and Mastery:) Great post Sue!
