Napoleon Hill in his book, Think And Grow Rich, inspired us all to realize we create our own reality and our own economy. Watch this rare video of Napolean Hill speaking…

Special thanks to Terry Petrovick for his generosity of sharing this rare video!

Napolean Hill was born on October 26, 1883 and died November 8, 1970. He was an American author whose famous book, Think and Grow Rich, is one of the best-selling books of all time and one of the first books on self improvement.

Think and Grow Rich talks of the power of personal beliefs, and the role they play in personal success. He’s quite famous for believing,

“What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”.

Apparently, Napoleon Hill was born in a one-room cabin in rural Wise County, Virginia. His family was very poor. When he was 10 years old, his mother died and his father remarried two years later. At 13 years old, he began his writing career for small-town newspapers. He tried to pay his way through law school as a reporter, but it was not enough and he had to drop out.

In 1908 he had an assignment to interview famous men for a series of articles he was writing. This led him to the Industrialist Andrew Carnegie, who was one of the most powerful men in the world at that time. Carnegie believed anyone could become successful if they followed a particular formula. He was impressed with Hill and commissioned him (without pay) to interview over 500 successful men and women, many of them millionaires, in order to discover and publish what he thought was a formula for success.

He got to interview people like Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, George Eastman, Henry Ford, Elmer Gates, John D. Rockefeller, Charles M. Schwab, F.W. Woolworth, William Wrigley Jr., John Wanamaker, William Jennings Bryan, Joseph Stalin, Theodore Roosevelt, William H. Taft, Woodrow Wilson, Charles Allen Ward and Jennings Randolph.

This project lasted over twenty years. Napolean Hill became an advisor to Carnegie. As a result of these studies, the Philosophy of Achievement was offered as a formula for rags-to-riches success by Hill and Carnegie. It was initially published in 1928 as a study course called, The Law of Success.

In 1937 Hill took the Philosophy of Achievement to produce, Think and Grow Rich.  It is still in print and has sold more than 30 million copies.

Hill called his success teachings, “The Philosophy of Achievement”.  He believed freedom, democracy, capitalism, and harmony were important contributing elements, and without these, he thought that personal beliefs are not possible.

Interestingly, he believed fear and selfishness to be the source of failure for unsuccessful people.

It’s interesting that fear is the lowest emotion on the emotional scale.

It is the furthest from our connection with our inner being.  I guess Napoleon Hill was on to something with this belief.

What an inspiration Napoleon Hill is to all of us as we grow our businesses.

Go ahead and open that envelope of riches that Andrew Carnegie told Hill about and enjoy…

There is a trailer that i have seen once on television that has a Japanese soldier, lying in a trap, narrating what fighting for his country is like. and speaking of honor and whatnot for the empire. i was just wondering where this video was and if it was perhaps taken off the air.
