My favorite of all ofย  Abraham Hicks’ Law of Attraction techniques is the Emotional Scale.

It is from this book:

Our emotions are our built in guidance system, sort of like an internal GPS that tell us if we are connected or disconnected to our fullest self. It is an inner wisdom that is spoken to us through our emotions.

We are all born with this inner wisdom. Although, most of us have tuned it out. We have been discouraged from feeling all of our emotions.

Our emotional guidance system is an indication of how connected or disconnected we are to our “inner being”. (This term inner being can be thought of in any way you’d like. For me it is my greater knowing. The SUE that is aligned fully with God. The part of me that is constantly calling me toward everything I’ve ever wanted.)

Notice that it is listed from highest (joy) to lowest (fear).

  1. Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
  2. Passion
  3. Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
  4. Positive Expectation/Belief
  5. Optimism
  6. Hopefulness
  7. Contentment
  8. Boredom
  9. Pessimism
  10. Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
  11. Overwhelment
  12. Disappointment
  13. Doubt
  14. Worry
  15. Blame
  16. Discouragement
  17. Anger
  18. Revenge
  19. Hatred/Rage
  20. Jealousy
  21. Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
  22. Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

(This is one of many Law of Attraction Techniques found in the book, (Page 297) Ask and It Is Given, by Esther Hicks.)

Our emotional guidance system is like a treasure map of how close we are to allowing our fullest potential.

The highest emotion of joy and love is the state when we are in total connection with our inner being. It’s when we are totally allowing our fullest experience and potential here on earth. It’s when we are totally aligned with God.

The lowest (fear) is when we have shut off or dis-allowed that connection to our inner being.

It is a choice we have. Our inner being never shuts us out. It’s always there hanging out waiting for us to allow its connection. Like electricity, it’s there even though we haven’t plugged in the light.

So, if a feeling feels badly, it’s just that our Inner Being sees the situation differently than we see it from our disconnected state.

They suggest that our inner being is always calling us toward the next emotion. The one that feels a little better than where we were.

Abraham Hicks refers to these Law of Attraction techniques as moving up the emotional scale. It’s a call from source to move from one emotion to the next that gives us a sense of relief.

So, when we are hanging out in fear, and talk ourselves into feeling guilty, that feeling of guilt feels a heck of a lot better than the feeling of fear.

You could say our inner being was calling us from the feeling of fear into a slightly better feeling of guilt.

This is sort of a new concept for some of us. To think that God/Source is calling us into anger seems strange.

But, think about how anger feels compared to fear. Wow, that anger seems like a relief.

The idea is to keep moving up the scale. Try not getting stuck on one emotion.

In joy,

THANKS SUE! I was just thinking Tuesday night that I wish this was something you could just give to me as a tool. (I feared I was going to have to read the book ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yay!

Thanks Sue! I like knowing that when we feel bad it doesn't mean that something is wrong, it just means we're outof alignment with our true selves. Once you realize this, emotions are no longer your master but just indicators of what's really going on. Keep up the great work!
