At the workshop I went to, Cheryl Richardson talked a lot about honoring our soul’s purpose.

But before we get into honoring it, how do we even know what our Soul’s Purpose is? Well, apparently we are born with it imprinted on our finger tips.

There’s a Native American expression that says…much more poetically than I can say it…We come into this world and leave this world with our Soul’s Purpose painted on our fingertips.
fingerprint
When I got my hand analysis read, I was told that my soul’s purpose is to be a butterfly and follow my heart!

If you’re curious about your Soul’s purpose, Beath Davis offers a free lesson on how to figure out your life school, life lessons and soul’s purpose.

Back to Cheryl Richardson. In her workshop she used the analogy that we are each born with a beautiful painting.

This painting is our expression of our soul.

She believes it is this painting that resembles who we came into this world to be.

But with time, people start to put their paint on our painting.

Our parents, teachers, friends, partners…all want to add some paint to make us look, act and behave how THEY want us to. And before we know it we are left so confused as to what our original sense of beauty and purpose was here on earth.

So our purpose in life is to get back to who we really are. Our job
is to clean off the painting.

How often do we look for our purpose, (usually mistaken for our
career) as a remedy for what’s not working in our life?

We force life to happen. We search outside of ourselves for what we think others think our purpose is.

But imagine if we just clean the painting?

This way we can start attracting what we need because we are authentic and pure in our true selves.

Do you feel the difference between searching and attracting? To me it feels like such a relief. And I’ll tell you what, when I was told that my fingerprints defined my soul’s purpose – to be a butterfly and follow my heart – it took so much pressure off!

Cheryl Richardson really drove the point home that when we start attracting what we need in life, what shows up is so much better than we could even imagine!

What does your original painting look like? What do you think your soul’s purpose is? We’d love to hear from you, so leave a comment below…

    Hi Sue,
Thanks for sharing this. I've never done this fingerprint reading with Beath although I've read and listened to her on occasion. Maybe it's time to reconnect with Beath…
    I hope you're well, Maddie

These are thought provoking issues as well. I believe that universal Power will allow us to explore whatever realm of our lives we choose, just as I as a loving father will accept whatever my son chooses to do.

I’ve always seen the 8th chakra as white. And since white contains all of the colors of the spectrum this makes sense that this soul star would embody all colors as it sends and receives light back and forth from your other chakras and the heavens. Keeping this center clear can help us as well as our equine friends. In fact Integrated Energy Therapy.

    Hi,

I really like your article. It really describes how most people feel (myself included), when they don't know what their purpose is.
People end up feeling lost, or depressed or sometimes even angry/resentful, and they use TV, movies, music, Games to distract them from those “empty” feelings, while the only thing that will bring them happiness is awakening to their purpose.

The purpose of our soul is to be with God in Heaven. If we believe in God and accept His Son as our Savior, our souls will be reunited with God in Heaven after we die.

Our soul is the part of us that yearns for contact with God. The purpose of our soul is to be with God in Heaven. If we believe in God and accept His Son as our Savior, our souls will be reunited with God in Heaven after we die.

You have to create your own purpose. Everyone lives out their purpose, b/c, as I said, you create it. So, if you just sit around all day, your purpose will be to be a lazy guy. You will have fulfilled it.

Speaking to national audience, Obama said he voted against the war (or actually would have) and then voted to fund the war on several occasions when he actually could have voted against it.

Many of us go through life performing our jobs, taking care of our family, dealing with day-to-day events and tasks. There are some that even find that niche or goal which gives them a sense of completion on this plane….

There are some that even find that niche or goal which gives them a sense of completion on this plane … like they have fulfilled their “life’s purpose.” But what about your “soul’s purpose”??

  • printer cartridgesq June 1, 2010 at 12:35 am

A big thankyou for your generous information sharing. It has helped me to do a 360 degree turn on self care as I was in a very bad way physically and emotionally always giving out and trying to find solutions for others problems and neglecting my own. I packed my bags and for 8 weeks did my own thing. Your hospital incident showed me I need to be more “selfish” very selfish.

she said it was really hard, she didn't want to be bursting in laughter, she did not say she didn't laugh. everyone laugh at some point during the tryouts! And I have been to several of her concerts and never left with a migraine!!

I was pretty surprised, I am a student. I have been working alone for many years searching my life purpose. I thought I would score higher. I guess having the proper tools and another person working by your side really does make a difference. hope I win I would love to work more on myself.

I am very interested in your perspecitve and will buy your book to obtain more insight. Like you, I have been called to spend time with the Maya to authenticate my understanding of their calendars and grasp of their worldview.

I hope you have even greater success than you have already. Good to hear that you also provide a safe and healthy alternative to tanning, cancer is not a nice thing to have to deal with!

  • boat produts June 15, 2010 at 8:13 am

I appreciate the kind words and well wishes. I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by great people or I wouldn’t even try this stuff to be honest with you…

Brown is good and Portland only has spray or tan booth tans. There’s not enough sun here to actually tan. Thank you for making us pretty.

  • printer cartridges June 15, 2010 at 8:14 am

I applaud your safe tanning methods and tell the naysayers to take a hike man, I did a little research on it myself and they way you do it is cool. It’s your enemies (competitors) and the political morons that have a problem with it and they don’t count.

Honestly I think whatever we do, whatever happens, is perfection. If our planet careens off it’s orbit and sinks into the middle of the sun that’s perfect.

Hi Sue 🙂 I checked out the link to Beth Davis, but it was too late – the free offer to determine your life's purpose is no longer available… Oh well 🙂

But I still want to say that I LOVE this post! This is actually something that I am going to cover in my Workshop “Too Many Mr. Wrongs? It's Your Turn to Find Mr. Right!”

In my workshop I have a slide that shows an iceberg with only the top 10% above the surface of the water and the remaining 90% down below. This is essentially like our life's purpose. We are born with it and we spend our lives discovering what it is. And as you say, our life purpose doesn't need to be something grandiose (like finding the cure for cancer). It can be as beautifully humble as “be a butterfly and follow you heart”

That is so lovely – and SO perfect for you 🙂

    xo Colette
